Visit with Philip and Krista at the Farm

My mom was having a good chuckle this weekend with our visit at the farm. The picture itself is a little soft and out of focus, but I love her happy expression.
Of course, Philip wanted a rematch with his dad on the arm wrestling. Todd was laughing and talking the whole time, why was Phil so red?  They decided it was a tie, but I'm still not sure that Todd was even really trying.
Philip tried to out grip Grandpa, and I think he suffered for it. Grandpa maybe 80 years old, but he's got one awesome grip!
Philip and his girl friend Krista.
 Kristi and Krista.
Yup, we had some confusion a few times with the names this weekend. And it looks like Kristi has passed up Krista on the height department. Don't feel bad Krista, she's taller than me too.
Grandpa Don and Philip.
Every child's life is enriched when he has a grand parent to love. If you don't have one still living, adopt one.

Love that Smile!

Last Sunday afternoon we went bowling with members from Word of Faith Church.  I think I was in the running for the most gutter balls, but all in all it was a lot of fun. Kristi was bowling with some of the young gals from WOF and I looked over and saw this wonderful smile on her face. To see her laughing and having a good time, almost brought tears to my eyes. Life has been pretty lonely and boring here for Kristi, so it was so fun to see her having a good time. Thank you Word of Faith for the opportunity!

This was not my ball cause it's not in the gutter!!

In Memory of Susie (the horse)

My sister-in-law Tammy loves riding and competing in Ranch Horse Competitions. This is a picture from this summer when she was competing.   Tammy and her boyfriend Dan were in a serious car accident last night on their way home from practicing their horses.  A man went through a stop sign and hit their rig going over 70 mph.  Dan and Tam suffered minor injuries, but the other man was killed.  Tam's horse Susie's injuries were too many and had to be put down today.  So I post this picture remembering a good horse, and also thankful to the Lord for sparing Tammy and Dan's lives.

Old Barn on Highway 3

This old barn is along the highway south of Wishek on Highway 3. I had also photographed it last August, so here it is in two seasons. I think I like the green one better. :-)

Philip and Track Indoor

My son Philip running at NSU (Aberdeen, SD) indoor track meet on Sat. Good Job Philip!!
It was really close in this heat. From where I was standing, I couldn't tell who had won the heat, but alas Phil got 2nd.  But took 6th place over all. (200 m race)

Where the snow belongs?

While driving to Aberdeen today, Kristi and I saw this on the side of the road, and just had to stop and take a picture, it was pretty funny. An port-a-potty in the ditch, and full of snow. Just too funny to pass up a few quick shots. It looks like it could have been close to some construction site, shut down for the winter of course.
This second port-a-potty was less than a quarter of mile from the first one, and on the opposite side of the road. It was half way up the john in snow. Since there was so little of the john showing, at first I didn't even think it was a port-a-potty, but on second look, I realized, yup there's another one buried in the snow.

Sweet Hannah

Hannah is one of the Seniors I was privileged to photograph this year. She was so much fun to work with. Their yard was a photographers paradise too. Thanks Hannah for a lot of fun.

Her puppy got in on this one!

If you look closely her kitty is in the background just over her shoulder.

Moreau River Sanctuary Pano

Was playing with doing a  panoramic. These are at the Moreau River Sanctuary. This first one was taken
July of 09
The second one was taken the past Dec 2010. This one was shot through the window and hand held, so the pano is a little soft and not perfect as I'd like it.  I also made the mistake of taking both of these panos horizontally, next time I'll do better.
If you haven't yet visited the Moreau River Sanctuary you're missing out on an awesome experience. It's a wonderful spot to get away from it all, and just enjoy life.

Camouflaged Kitty & and Kitty on a Tin Roof

This is at least one good picture I got yesterday out shooting. This is Mocha. She was one of our kitties this summer who we gave away, but she's back, cause she needed a "babysitter" for a few months.  So we're "kittysitting" She's the cuddliest kitty ever, but she has this thing for climbing up the tree too.

This is Mocha's Momma LuLu on the roof of the barn. Can't call it Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, more like Cat on a Cold Tin Roof. Or maybe I should call it "Me and my Shadow"

One photographer + One snowy day= Stupid

Tried to go for a drive to get that "perfect" shot in a really cool spot. But in the middle of a white out and snow, could no longer see the road, and slid off. Thankfully it was only a mile or so home. I had to walk, cause I'd left my cell phone on a the charger. Let's just say not the greatest morning.

Opps! Forgot something!

Kristi and I saw this yesterday in Bismarck, and laughed. This was taken with my cell phone while sitting at a red light, so it's not the greatest picture, but still pretty humorous.  Wonder what distracted them, and made them set it down there?
Just thought we'd share out chuckle of the day.

The Road less traveled

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference
