Kristi's Drivers License and Saying good bye to Sonny

Yesterday Kristi became ND newest licensed driver. And with that little plastic card comes responsibility.
We also said good bye to Sonny, our 18 year old gelding. He's now hopefully (if he passes the test) will be helping kids and adults at the Soaring Spirits Riding Arena. A Equine Horse therapy program.
Sonny was the horse that Todd had his accident on 9 years ago, but really no fault of the horse. We hope in some way though this can redeem some of the pain in our lives, but helping others. Sonny, I hope you pass and can be a blessing to others.
Here's Sonny with his new owner Kent Graham.
This is our kitty Charcoal, but I keep calling him "Fluffy" so maybe his name should be "Fluffy Charcoal."  He's going to be put to work, keeping the mice down and out of all our stuff in storage. Hope you like your new home too Charcoal.
Kent also took our horse Lakota (formerly called Crash) to try out. He's hoping a friend of his in Montana will be interested in him.  Lakota is one  of the colts out of Tyson's horse Faith. Tyson had called him "Crash" after a drum cymbal, but when we bought him from Tyson, I felt the name could have another bad connection, so Todd renamed him Lakota cause he was so friendly.

True turned Two

My sweet little niece turned two on Sunday. Her birthday was all Pooh. Here's a couple of shots from her party.
Mommie Tracie made the cutest cake ever!! Mickey, Pooh, and Red Bear all on a blanket for a birthday picnic on a grassy field. How cute!! You are so creative Tracie!!
 Love this picture of True.
Nobody is getting this cake but me!!! I'm keeping my eye on you BeeOp! (Grandpa)
Auntie Kimmie and Auntie Debbie gave her this Pooh and Piglet. I think by the look on her face she kind of liked the gift!
What could be better? Pooh and Piglet and a ball
We gave her this Pooh. I think she liked this one too, can you tell?
True's Mom and Dad.  Thanks for having this great kid to bring us all so much entertainment and joy!!
My favorite picture of the day. Reflections of True.
True was showing Gramma Honey how she marches to the Pooh song.
No Auntie Kimmie, you can't have my new Pooh and Piglet. LOL

Viking Football DAC Champions!

Today's game against the Jamestown Jimmies was another VICTORY for the Valley City Vikings. This makes them the DAC Champions, and should set them up to be in the playoffs.  As of today they're 7-1
Here's a few shots from todays game. I wasn't on the field, but in the stands today.
Somehow today I kept seeing great humor in the Refs letters on their backs. They kept spelling out words to me. Like BUF- They really think they're BUFF! (of course we were in Jamestown, which is known for their buffalo too)
HUH?  Isn't that what they were saying?
VCSU the returning Bucket Champs - Some long time traveling trophy between the Jimmies and Vikings.

Phil in the shadow of the bucket trophy
 That is the "REUER" stance
Phil getting in on the action
 Phil got the tackle!!!
I guess it was getting too noisy. They're the "SHHH" refs.  :-) hee hee

Hey, isn't that what they call a "face mask" and is an illegal action?
VCSU wins again and gets to keep the Bucket Trophy
Waving Hi to the camera!!
(How do you find your mom on the field? Just listen for the clicking sound, right Phil?)

For the birds

Yesterday we had a huge amount of black birds in our yard. The noise was incredible!!
If you look closely, the tree is black with birds
 starting to take off
There actually had been more birds earlier, but by the time I got my camera this was all that was left, still a lot, but not as many as before.

Let's play a little FOOTBALL!!

Stepping up to college football has really been fun. Last week the coach gave me a field pass and let me shoot on the field.  VCSU is having a great year, and is presently 6-1
Go Vikings
These are a few of my favorite shots of last Saturday's game.
Interesting in shooting football, it's not like you can really plan, you just hope you're in the right spot at the right time when the action happens and you can get the shot.
Of course my favorite player #10 Philip Reuer- Yah, my boy!!
Growing up Phil always wanted to play for the Vikings. I think he was thinking the Minnesota Vikings, but he's still getting to play for the Vikings.

Love seeing the refs do this!!  (the one symbol I know what it means!!)

Can you tell Kristi and Todd really aren't into football. Both in the stands reading books. Wonder if they knew VCSU won the game?
One of my favorite shots. I caught it on camera, but I think the receiver missed it.
Yah! for the linemen that keep the "skinny" guys safe. (Can you tell I really don't know a whole lot about football. You think I'd be an expert by now since Phil has been playing since 3rd grade. But I still need that class "Football for Dummies, and Moms who don't know anything.")

Run Phil run!! Everything gets blurry when Phil runs.
You're not going to catch me.

Although she rarely watches the game, she still is proud of her older brother!!
The black eye had nothing to do with football. He got that at a retreat he went to the weekend before in the polar bear dive. A total accident. You didn't need that football black stuff under your eyes, you had your own this game. LOL

Senior Collage

Today I spent part of the afternoon designing a couple of different collages for one of my Seniors.  Hadn't done this before, so was kind of fun playing around with it.
Kristi liked this one the best.
This one above is the one they liked the best and their choice of pictures.
This one was my favorite.
Guess everyone sees things a little different. So that makes designing all the harder, cause it's all so subjective.

Brookings Ministers Meeting

Several weeks ago, we made a trip to Rapid City to watch Philip play football, on the way home, we took a detour to Brookings and attended a ministers meeting. We met up with some "old" friends (not in age of course, but just we've known them for 30 some years).  It was so fun to get to meet up with those you have "history" with.
Rich and Marilyn Apfel, our long time friends and missionaries to Mexico.  20 years ago, we took a mission trip into Mexico with them, it truly was a life changing experience for us. Love you guys lots!
Jun and Tina Isaguire from the Philippines.  When we went on our mission trip in 1989 to South East Asia we spent 10 day in the Philippines ministering at their Bible School. They are dear, sweet people, with wonderful heart for God and their nation.  We even got to sing a couple of songs in the Filipino dialect with them that I could remember.
Ann Rowe, this is one precious woman of God. Sorry I caught you in the middle of a sentence here Ann.  This woman knows how to reach heaven in prayer.  I owe my life to her because of it too.  While pregnant with Kristi, she had felt led to pray for me that there would be no problems with my physical heart.  What I never told her, till this day we met a few weeks ago, was that I had a very vivid dream of going into cardiac arrest during delivery.  She didn't know that when she prayed.  Then about an hour after delivery, one of the nurses, was checking my vitals again, and said, "oh, finally!"  I asked what she meant, and she said, "we almost lost you in delivery.  The doctor was afraid you were going into cardiac arrest, finally now your vitals are back to normal."  I thank God for Ann and that she was sensitive to God and prayed ahead of time, and God answered, and I'm still here!
Here's all us "Oldies" as Ann called us. Together fellowshipping in God's love!
