Oh Christmas Tree!

This year I went back to having my "odd" Christmas trees. For years, I took a branch off a tree (be it a Cedar, Cottonwood, or a tumble weed) and made it a tree. About 10 years ago, my mom bought us an artificial tree.  But this year, I went back to doing my old strange things.  This is a branch off a huge Pine tree in our yard (which needs trimming anyway).
I struggle every year in why we do what we do as traditions.  Though a Christmas tree is pretty to look at, there's another tree that truly brings us life. It's the one at the end of Jesus' life. And as this Christmas tree is an evergreen, the other tree brings us everlasting life.
Have a very Jesus filled CHRISTmas!
May you find room in your heart for Him, and be at home forever with Jesus!!

Merry Christmas!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!  May your day be filled with love, laughter and family. And may we all remember the real reason we celebrate. Jesus!!!

Love those kitties

This year we had two litters of kitties. They are always so fun to watch.  It was like trying to nail jello to the wall trying to take pictures of them though. Here were I few I managed to take this summer. All the kitties were fighting some kind of "cold", thus the watery eyes. It took a long time, but we finally got them over it.  I hope their all enjoying their new homes.

The Hamers Family

I was privileged to photograph the Hamers family this last week. Here's a sampling of their pictures

It was only 17 degrees out and snowing when we took these pictures. Everyone was cold, and I was trying to shoot as fast as possible.
The mom brought the kids out a couple days later to my "studio" to shoot some individual pictures of them.

 She's such a cutie
A couple of cookies finally convinced the little boy to sit next to his sister.
